Wimbledon away at Plough Lane 4th March 1985 FA Cup 5th round.

15 years old and got to see agro directly for the first time as well.

Chelsea were at home that night and as our District Line train went through Fulham Broadway they tried to put our windows through. Our boys jumped out and clumped one or two of them.

Yeah remember that one. Think loads of us from Eastlea were all there that day, packing their South Bank and dotted around their North Bank

Great game that.

McAvennie stepped off a 24 hour flight after playing for Scotland that week in Australia and banged in the winner on QPR's plastic pitch.

Was about that time when we all started thinking this could be our season...

Can't remember the first London one.
Outside of London the one that stands out was Notts county 83 ish.
Can't remember the score but will never forget it being that cold.the weather was as bad as it gets, pissing rain gale force winds.
No disrespect to Notts county supporters but Meadow Lane was a fucking shithole back then.
I've never been back.

1976

Bristol City

My Dad took me up to the game for my 8th birthday from Exeter, 1-1 draw, Alan Taylor got the equaliser,

Brooking played a superb game, getting the best of Geoff Merrick throughout the game, (Got. A photo of Brooking doing just that from my Dad above the tele),

Re: First away game
I was at a few of these , the scummers in 75 which we won 2-0 cup , the ' Alan Taylor show 'library qf , maybe my alltime fave , the Norwich where I got half inched 0-1 , the palarse 3-2 where I last saw my old mate Krizz Baker & the last minute loss to those Leicester tossers .
First for me , my dad who is Pompey took me to the chelski draw
In '69 iirc where a mob of WHU skins were just walking round the ground , no segregation I think in those days !

I'm pretty sure it was away to Arsenal 1962. I was 8 and up in the upper tier seats with my dad. Finished 1-1.
Even at the age of 8 I didn't like Arsenal. They had big crowds at Highbury but there was no atmosphere and no characters about the place, unlike the Boleyn.

Mine was Luton were we lost 3-2 with Brooking getting our goals in a packed end with an electric score board wallspan. 1981-2 I believe

1975 FA Cup qf at Highbury.... Dad managed to get 2 seats from a mate that owed him a favour.... I would have been 8 years old...sat in the Arsenal seats not that it mattered much the amount of WHU there that day... absolutely loved the day and thought EVERY away game was going to be like it... worth getting soaked for!!

Trying to think what was the 1st away game with mates... Southend in the LC in 1979 rings a bell.... 0-0 IIRC...

Think mine was the Forest semi final in 1991.

March 1956, WHL for a 1/4 final of the FA cup. Drew 3-3 and could not go to the replay because it was midweek, during the day, and I was at school. Tommy Harmer masterminded a 2-1 win for them.

December 1989, Filbert Street. Leicester 1-0 Us
Bishop and Morley made their debuts. Ally Mauchlen scored with a few minutes left. Driven up by my mate's Mum's boyfriend who was in a right mood all day (as he wasn't a football fan but mate's Mum was ill and cried off that morning).

Southend 1993, lost 0-1 (Brett Angel scored I think?).
Terrible game, all squashed into a small terrace behind the goal and we had Colin Foster & David Speedie playing up front!

Norwich 1975 or 76. Not sure which. Though as we were living in Norwich at the time, not exactly a trek.

First away game was a 1-0 win at Coventry 1971
most memorable player that day was John McDowell at right back..... as well as Bobby Moore....

Re: First away game
Mike, glad you remember that as I'm the same, mates can't understand why I dislike him even today. Bloody hell, I'm getting depressed now thinking about that season. Even then we had shit decisions costing us.

Re: First away game
DaveT - no doubt in my mind that we were cheated out of the three points at Anfield which would have won us it.

Paul Walsh dive in the penalty box and Ray Stewart getting sent off for saying a dive was a dive completely turned that match around

Takashi Miike 2:13 Sat Jan 28
Re: First away game
Dave, I'll never forgive the pixie nosed cunt for that. he caused the row and Alvin got the blame

DaveT 1:28 Sat Jan 28
Re: First away game
Mike, always say that was the game along with losing few days later at Villa which cost us the league as we should have won both easily.
First away was at Coventry in the league cup in 1968, got beat I think which was rare up there.
